Hossamaldeen Ibrahim

political analyst specializing in governance, political violence, and security dynamics in Sudan

Hossamaldeen Ibrahim is a political analyst specializing in governance, political violence, and security dynamics in Sudan, the Horn of Africa, and the Middle East. He currently works as an Africa Analyst at the Bloomsbury Intelligence and Security
Institute (BISI), where he produces policy briefs and early warning assessments on political and security developments across the region. He previously served as a Research Fellow at the International Council on Human Rights, Peace and Politics, leading applied research on conflict, accountability, and governance in fragile settings. Hossamaldeen has also worked with the European Union Delegation to Sudan and research institutions including the University of Khartoum. His work focuses on armed actors, war economies, and the role of regional and international actors in shaping conflict trajectories. He holds an Honours degree in Economics, Political Science, and International Relations and is fluent in Arabic and English.
