The Center for Study of Terrorism, Violent Extremism and Radicalization conducts, analyses and synthesizes research on terrorism, violent extremism and radicalization to assist governments and other agencies make evidence-based interventions. It also undertakes in-depth analyses of subtleties of violent extremism and provide policy direction to relevant authorities and decision-makers in the Horn of Africa region. Specifically, the Center does analyses of push and pull factors into violent extremism at macro-level (socio-economic or political drivers), meso-level (social and cultural drivers) and micro-level (individual in nature). Subsequently, the Center publishes its research and activities in manuals and books, holds workshops, seminars, conferences, round table discussions, consultative meetings, and media appearances. The Center draws on its experience as well as a network of experts to achieve its objective.
