Training of United Nations Guard Units to Somalia

Experts from the HORN Academy are involved in the Training of United Nations Guard Units to Somalia which runs under the auspices of United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) . United Nations Guard Unit to Somalia was established by the United Nations in 2014. The Unit is a static force that will be based at Mogadishu International Airport, and will form part of the UN’s overall security concept, providing static protection for the compounds of UNSOM and the UN Support Office for the African Union Mission in Somalia (UNSOA), located inside the airport. Key areas covered in the training include a comprehensive understanding of the mandate, tasks and roles of the unit, as well as cross-cutting issues.
