Launch of the Lenga Ugaidi na Talanta Competition, 2019
About the Competition
Lenga Ugaidi na Talanta is an initiative that seeks to channel youth creativity towards countering violent extremist narrative. This is a short film, poetry, and music competition targeting Kenyan youth under 35 years in the fight against radicalization, violent extremism and terrorism.
This year, Season Three will begin on October 17, 2018, also the day of the official launch of the Competition, and ends n November 24, 2019.
Competition Requirements
Record/create a five-minute video, animation, or motion graphics based on the preferred category (poetry, music, and or film) and submit your entry. The entry should fall in any of the following themes:
- Identifying early warning signs of radicalization among peers
- How to effectively and responsibly respond to terror attacks
- The role of social media in radicalization and terrorism
- The role of women and children in radicalization and terrorism
- The true meaning of jihad
Include the following details when you submit your short video, music clip, or poetry:
- Full name
- Phone number
- Email address
- A copy of your Identity Card (ID)
Note: If you are below 18 years old, submit your parent or legal guardian’s copy of the ID.
