Eritrean refugees in Ethiopia increases after border reopening

15,000 Eritreans have arrived in the Ethiopia since the borders reopened. The combination of unchanged conditions inside Eritrea and open borders has led to a stark increase in refugee numbers. UNHCR estimates that the average daily arrival rate has increased more than fourfold.

Diplomatic

President Isaias Afwerki of Eritrea arrived in the United Arab Emirates on September 19, 2018 for a three-day official visit. This follows the signing of a peace deal between Eritrea and Ethiopia in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, earlier on.
