Overview

Hon. Abdulkadir Abdi Hashi is an expert in institution building and is an international consultant on the Prevention of Violent Extremism and Youth Radicalization.  Mr. Hashi was until April 1, 2017, the Minister of Education, Culture, and Higher Learning of the Federal Republic of Somalia.  He also served as a member of the Federal Parliament of Somalia between August 2012 and December 2016. 

Previously, Mr. Hashi was the Minister of State for Planning and International Cooperation, Puntland State, Somalia.  He also served as a diplomat for his country in Canada and the UK.  Mr. Hashi is an academic with a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Brock University, Canada, and a Master of Arts in International Relations and Public Policy from West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV, USA, where he is a PhD Candidate in the department of Political Science.  Mr. Hashi can be followed through his twitter handle @MinisterHashi.
